Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs: Guest Post: Noshing with the Nolands

December 05, 2013

Hey Guys- I have a wonderful guest post for you today!

Hi all, Tara here from Noshing With The Nolands. Erin asked for a guest post and I was more than happy to oblige. As you already know she has a fabulous site, with delicious recipes and gorgeous photography.
I was thinking of what to make for Erin and I thought with our cold months ahead a really good slow cooker recipe would fit the bill. Who wants to stand out in the cold and snow to BBQ but we all love the taste of a good BBQ sauced rib. So into the slow cooker these ribs went and out came gorgeously tender and delicious smoky flavored goodness. You will love this recipe. ENJOY!!

3 lbs. pork back ribs, cut into two rib portions
Garlic salt and pepper
1 1/2  cups ketchup
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. ancho chili powder
1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. hot pepper sauce
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. oregano
Place ribs on a broiler pan and season with garlic salt and pepper on both sides. Broil 6" from the heat until browned, about 10 min. turning over to brown the other side also. Transfer to a large slow cooker.
In a small bowl mix together the rest of the ingredients. Pour the sauce over the ribs. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Serve ribs with sauce.
