Marbled Chocolate Banana Bread

Moist banana bread with a swirl of chocolate..

So, big news around here..we are buying a new house!  Well, we are attempting to buy a house.  We've had an offer accepted on a place.   We still have all the craziness of an inspection, appraisal, etc. Everything should go OK,.  I hope.  It should. Sticking with our regular routine of never do anything on a small scale, we have placed this bid on a giant 100 year old house on a large piece of land.  It's such a great house, but, needs work (like, the fridge is avocado green), so the appraisal makes a bit nervous.  You never know what will pop up in a 100 year old house. Whew. But, it's so exciting! Our house now is nice, but, small.  Tiny.  We need alot more room to breath.   So, keep your fingers crossed for us :)


Shall we talk banana bread instead, then?  We shall.  Banana bread is like the more perfect bread of all times, isn't it? Yes, it is.  We love it.  Especially warm with butter, right?  Yum. Dreamy. Well, this lovely loaf is a nice, moist banana bread and has a fabulous marbled swirl of chocolate in it.   Even dreamier.

Marbled Chocolate Banana Bread

Ingredients (Serves: 4-6)
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 4 ripe banana, smashed
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray/Grease 8 in loaf pan.
In a mixing bowl, mix butter and bananas. Add in sugar, egg and vanilla. Add flour, cinnamon and baking soda in slowly. Mix until well combined.
In a separate bowl. melt chocolate chips until smooth. Take 1 cup of batter and mix with melted chocolate.
Pour plain batter into prepared pan. Spoon chocolate batter on top. Marble with a knife.
Bake 40-45 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
