Out of the Kitchen Friday: Homemade Fingerpaint

January 30, 2015

Right before Thanksgiving, we moved into our new house.   Well, actually, it's very old house.  We were told that they "think" it's 100 year old.  They weren't too certain.  The lovely woman who owned the house lived there since she was 8 years old.  She is now 93 years old.   Her family were not the original owners, they bought it from the original owners.  So, essentially, we are only the 3rd owners of a 100 year old house..pretty amazing.  Anyway, as you can see from above photo, we are currently doing some re-hab work to the place.  We aren't knocking down walls or anything too extreme, but, it does need some updating.  Drapes from the 1980's still need to be removed, shag carpeting is being removed and the bathroom needs a new sink/cabinet.  As you can also see from above photo, it's sitting in my living room and has yet to be installed.   That's OK, once the carpeting was ripped up from there, it was much better to me. Yeah..there was carpeting in the bathroom.  Ugh. Ick.  Was that a trend in the 1970's or 80's?   My parents had lots of wood paneling, but, zero carpet in the bathrooms.   I will try and keep you guys updated on our re-hab progress.
Have any house construction/re-hab stories to share? Would love to hear some :)

Have a wonderful weekend and check out some great pins before you go...
