Honey Sesame Pork

Before we talk about pork, I have some news. Big news! We have a new family member around here.  
This is Hope. Our new puppy.  

She's about 10 weeks and a lab mix.  She's also the cutest thing since sliced bread.  That brings my house total to 3 dogs, 1 cat and 5 kids.  I've officially lost my mind.  Who am I kidding? I lost my mind a really long time ago.  Why worry about it now?

Let's talk pork instead.

This pork is so easy and the sauce is quite fabulous. It's got a great sweet taste and guys, you could have dinner on the table with this one in under an hour.  So simple to toss together.

I used whole,boneless pork chops for ours, but, you could easily cut the pork into bite size pieces also. Chicken would also work really well with this sauce too.  

Serve it over some white rice and your dinner is all set.

Honey Sesame Pork
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Baking Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:
  • for pork:
  • 1 lb boneless pork chops ( about 4 chops)
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs
  • salt/pepper
  • canola oil
  • for sauce:
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 3/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (store bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 TBSP minced garlic
  • 1 TBSP cornstarch
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. In a mixing bowl,  whisk all ingredients for sauce until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Pat pork chops dry and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. In a flat dish, mix together the 3 beaten eggs and 1 cup of cornstarch.  Coat each pork chop in mixture. Coating completely.
  5. In a oven-safe skillet, heat 1-2 TBSP of canola oil.  Add in pork chops and cook just until browned.  You do not have to cook completely through. 
  6. Pour sauce over pork chops.  Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, turning pork chops half way through baking time. Cook until cooked through.
  7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.  Goes great served over rice.
