Peanut Butter Muddy Buddies

October 03, 2016

The classic snack mix loaded with peanut butter..
Muddy buddies are one my kids favorite treats. What's not to love? Crunchy cereal coated in chocolate and then coated with powdered sugar. It's their dream dessert.

If you aren't familiar with muddy buddies, you may know this mix as puppy chow or monkey munch. I'm not too certain where these names came from, but, it doesn't really matter. Cause, this stuff is good.

You start with a crispy rice or corn cereal (ex: Chex or equivalent). A crunchy chocolate cereal will also work.  Then, coat it with your melted chocolate mixture. Of course, the final step is literally bombarding your cereal with powdered sugar. This can be messy (or is that just me?), but, you won't care once you eat it.

This is your basic muddy buddies recipes, but, has a little extra peanut butter love mixed in. Once your cereal is totally coated in sugar, you will toss it with mini peanut butter cups and peanut butter.  Making it even better. For you peanut butter candies, you can use M & M's or Reese's pieces. Both will work great.

A fun treat and will make great use of all that upcoming Halloween candy!
