I'm so totally in love with these truffles. 😍

Some of the best recipes just require few simple ingredients, don't you agree?  These are no exception to the rule.

These delicious truffles are known by "Brigadeiros".  Brigadeiros are a traditional Brazilian candy. They are similar to a truffle or bonbon and you too, will quickly fall in love with them.

Your simple ingredients are sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, butter and salt.

Start by melting  all your ingredient in a saucepan. Then, increase your heat and let the mixture get thick.  This should take anywhere from 15 minutes to 25 minutes. Keep a close eye on it..you don't want it to burn.

Next, spread your mixture in your pan and refrigerate.

Cool the mixture and let it set.

All you need to do then, is scoop the mixture out the pan and form into balls.  Give them a coat in sprinkles and they are ready to enjoy!  To just heads up, for best results, you will need to keep your leftovers in the refrigerator.

So simple.

A delicious, gooey, and decadent delight. Try this Brigadeiros soon! You will not be disappointed.

Prep Time: 00:30
Ingredients (approx 18-24 truffles)
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 TBSP butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • dash of salt
  • sprinkles, for coating
Instructions
Grease an 8 x 8 baking dish. Set aside.
In a heavy bottom saucepan, over medium heat, whisk together, cocoa powder, sweetened condensed milk and butter. Be sure that the butter melts completely and the cocoa powder is dissolved.
Whisking frequently, let mixture come to a bubble, then, reduce heat to low. Let mixture cook for 15-20 minutes or until it's very thick. Keep a close eye on it and don't raise the heat too much. It can burn easily. When it's done, it should be a soft mass that will slide when the pan is titled.
When ready, remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Spread mixture into prepared pan.
Refrigerate for an hour (or longer) to set and chill.
When ready, scoop out batter and form into balls. Roll in sprinkles or desired coating.
Serve immediately or keep in refrigerator until you are ready to serve them.
Keep leftovers in refrigerator.
