Crock Pot French Dip Sandwiches

Simple and delicious! French dip roast beef sandwiches in your crock pot.

My childhood was spent growing up in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago.  The White Sox, pizza set-ups, White Castle and beef sandwiches is what I know very well.

Beef sandwiches have been served at nearly every family gathering for my entire life. That and chicken.  My mom will always ask...where are you getting the beef from?  It's gotta be a local place or may as well not even get it. It's a south side thing, I guess.  And...we never called them French Dip Sandwiches...we just called them beef sandwiches.

But, I am calling them French Dip, because, it's a bit more well known and recognized where non-south side Chicago people live. At least..that's what it seems :)

Beef sandwiches can be served in a variety of ways...with red sauce, with peppers (hot or sweet), loaded up with juice or plain dry.  Dip your bun before you load it up with meat or leave it plain or dunk it as you eat it. Don't forget cheese..I like mine with mozzarella cheese..mmmm..good stuff.   It's your own canvas..paint it with what you want!

{you can make these 2 ways..with a 1-2 lb beef roast or you can purchase 1-2lbs of ready cooked roast beef from your deli and add it to your Au Jus}
